Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy can be very effective during pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. This involves the use of plant derived essential oils, which can be administered by massage, inhalation or water.
Their pharmacological and therapeutic effects enhance overall well-being and promote the body’s natural healing abilities.
It can encourage restful sleep, alleviate common physical symptoms, reduce stress hormones and induce feel good hormones which are required for birth.
Clinical research reports that having regular aromatherapy treatments towards the end of your pregnancy increases the possibility of going into labour naturally.

Reduction in backache

Relief of insomnia - aids restful sleep

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a technique used in traditional Chinese medicine to help turn a baby from a breech position to a head down position. This can be used instead of an External Cephalic Version (ECV) or alongside a ECV.
The treatment is carried out using a moxa stick as a heat source, which is applied to the bladder acupoint located on the woman’s small toes.
This is a safe treatment for women after 35 weeks gestation, who have an uncomplicated pregnancy. Research on moxibustion for breech varies from 66-95% success rate, whereas the success rate for an EVC is around 50%.
If you have experienced any of the following then you are not suitable for moxibustion treatment
Previous caesarean section
Increased fluid around the baby
Low lying placenta
High blood pressure
Diabetes requiring medication

Restore C-Section Scar Therapy
What is scar therapy
Scar tissue is less functional As your body heals after your c-section surgery, scar tissue forms. Scar tissue is fibrotic, less stretchy and less mobile. Adhesions may form, sticking together layers under the skin. This tight scar tissue, and adhesion formation can cause a 'pouch' or 'overhang. Adhesions can create discomfort or other symptoms. How can scar therapy help? Stimulate change to the scar tissue on the skin surface, and to adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissues. Reduce common symptoms, such as numbness, pain and sensitivity, and any associated pain (such as hip or back pain). Promote cosmetic improvements after c-section Gentle treatment with great results The RESTORE method has been developed by the UK's leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly. A course of treatment is usually recommended, but a single session and self-care advice for you to follow at home can be helpful.Suitable from 6 weeks post c-section onwards. There is no upper limit as to how old your scar is!
